Animal Friendly Surroundings

One of the best things about living in the mountains are all the beautiful animals! When taking William to work, we take "the back roads". Right here by our home is a huge array of Blue Jay and Cardinal bird families, too.
This picture was taken right outside our kitchen window... what a nice surprise to see:)
This is one of my favorite hills to come across... there are always beautiful horses grazing along the hill top!
Some day I want to stop and get a closer look!
My next adventure is to capture the lambs and goats:)

I love having kiddos who know it's okay to have quiet time, playing on their own, without needing to have Mommy or Daddy entertaining them! It's a good time to watch their own little personalities shine:)

Christmas Day

Christmas day seemed to take forever to actually come... maybe it was because of all the fun we were having prior to "the big day" or just because we were all very anxious to see the looks on our kids' faces:)

We didn't get out and take Christmas pictures this year... which if you know us, is pretty unusual:( So instead of having no fun pictures, I got our kiddos in their new jammies and said "Go for it!"...

We were very excited to have my mom and sister come to Tennessee for Christmas this year. With a winter storm on the horizon, they packed up and headed north a week prior to the original plans. Boy, we're pretty glad too, because our girls were out of school that entire first week they were here!

BIG BIG BIG thanks to my mom and sister for visiting us for such an important holiday. We had a great time shopping, going out to eat, cooking/baking yummy food, wrapping tons of presents, talking about "the good-ole" days, and enjoying our family together:) Can't wait to see you guys again!
