Happy 5th Birthday, Dannen!

When my little guy turned the BIG 5, my heart melted. He's truly amazing! Dannen is such a delight in our lives... always smiling, giggling, chatting up a storm, questioning everything, making up stories, playing for hours with his multitude of cars... I could go on and on. Not sure if it's the whole third times the charm or he's a boy or who knows. We do know this world is a brighter place with Dannen Michael, and we're very blessed :)

Lucky Tooth #13

The Tooth Fairy made it's first debut here at my mom's house.
In all the hustle and bustle, I forgot to take our traditional tooth-pic. Kaylie was thankfully a great sport, and decided to make things right lol This was the note she left the Tooth Fairy:

I couldn't help but giggle... and laugh out loud at the money request! Each normal tooth brings 25cents and molars bring 50cents :)
After getting her picture and sending it off once again, this was the note she left with the tooth:
Needless to say, no money was exchanged, but a happy little girl and entertained parents will always remember this tooth lol

5th Birthday Fun

Dannen's 5th birthday was quite eventful! We got to celebrate twice... once on the previous Saturday and on his actual birthday.
Our little guy is in LOVE with Legos. Ever since we found out he was a boy, William pulled out all of his Legos (yes, HIS Legos) and made them a staple in our home. Even our girls have grown up with them lol When we found out "The Lego Movie" was coming out around his birthday, it was perfect timing to celebrate him turning the big FIVE-OH!
We enjoyed seeing the movie with the only people we really know here in Florida: the five of us, my mom and sister, my cousin Colleen & her kids Mitchell and Morgan, and William's Dad and Donna. What an awesome movie!!! I haven't laughed that hard in a while... not sure what was funnier at times, the movie or Dannen watching it :)
The community center here had the perfect sized room to enjoy some time together.
Kaylie was such a good helper, serving the pizza and cake :)
Dannen made his DJ Robot Lego man festive
Fun cake covered in "The Lego Movie" Legos!
Such a cheesy smile for this little guy!
 :)
 Second cousins :)
 Lovin' the presents!
We're very thankful for family spending time with Dannen... having our "family" in Tennessee so far away meant making the best of the celebrations with family here :)
Dannen was very excited to go to school on his birthday, ready to enjoy his cupcakes with new friends. His wish that morning? "I hope I get homework!" LOL
That night, I made his favorite, macaroni and cheese and homemade chicken nuggets (I think they turn out similar to chic-fil-a's nuggets!). Afterwards, Dannen enjoyed his ride with Grandpa Mel and even got to drive! Well, steer is more like it. Would you let a five year old drive a golf cart around a 55+ community? Um, no lol He loved it!!!
When he came back, more presents and Daddy's homemade chocolate cake with whipped cream decor were waiting.
 Such a happy little guy!
Huge thanks for all the wonderful gifts... new clothes, car toys, super heroes, Legos, and his own Batman scooter!
For a birthday project at school, we made this collage... love my little man!!!

Dannen's New School

I LOVE the fact that Dannen gets to go to school! And so does he!!! With the move to Florida, his whole world opened up to learning. He goes to school 5 days a week, from 8:30-2:30. Absolutely perfect since his sisters go from 8-2:10. And can I say how much I love the uniforms?!?! Though we're still waiting for his shirts to come back embroidered with the school logo, he still gets to wear his navy blue shirt with khaki bottoms. He looks so much older and handsome :)
If you ask him what the best part of school is, he'd say "HOMEWORK"! I can't get over how awesome this is to hear from my little man :) He has at least one sheet of homework a night, sometimes two. They're working on writing their numbers now. Thank goodness for two big sisters who've enjoyed playing "teacher" with him the past few years... he's rockin' school! He's a bit ahead when it comes to a lot of things, so it's nice to see him enjoying school.
Dannen was excited to recite the pledge of allegiance... he was the only one who knew it all already :)
We're impressed and blessed for such a great program... keep up the fantastic work, Dannen!
