Fisherman's Village

Punta Gorda has a really neat Fisherman's Village right on the water. You can even bring your dogs!!! (Yeah, Peanut is going next time.) There are tons of shops, eateries, and things to see.
The biggest attraction was the sHaRk!
Dannen was trying to lift it...
My girls were more into cuddling lol
And who can pass up a photo op with a pirate and mermaid? I LOVE Dannen's face... "You girls are seriously nuts!"
He was a little too short to reach the face opening LOL
 And another bench-from-behind picture...
Love spending these fun and free time together!

Ponce de Leon Park

We found a FANTASTIC fun beach/park/nature area after taking William to work one day. Ponce de Leon Park is a quiet, clean, hidden gem!
Thankfully, we wore hoodies, because it was super windy. Can't visit a park without testing out the swings... Yes, my girls are nuts, trying to swing in the baby swings lol
Dannen was like, "Um, no... I can swing like a man!"
 The view was amazing!
 So quiet here...
The beach edge was a little wall...
followed by a path to go down and enjoy the water. DEFINITELY going back to check out that little path!
 Testing the water...
 Taking a break...
Helps having a tall "little" sister lol
 Teamwork...
I could have sat here allllllll day...
 ahhhhh :)
After checking out the park and beach, we found a really neat trail...
And of course little statues lol
All along the wooden path, we found posts, talking about the different animals found in the area. I was EXTREMELY surprised at how interested all three kids were... no one wanted to keep going until finding each one and reading every word :)
 We learned a lot!
 SMILE!
The Anhinga are the same type of birds found near my mom's house, resting along the lake front... my kids were beyond excited to go back and tell William's Dad what they learned lol
 Interesting...
Had to pose in front of another statue... this is TOTALLY my kids in a picture... Dannen the goof-ball, Kaylie the center-stage, and Makenzie the poser :)
Anxious to go back with bathing suits and a picnic... great find!!!

LEGO event

Can't believe I forgot to post pics from our Barnes N Noble LEGO building event!?!? With having seen the movie and everyone very passionate about LEGOS, we jumped at the chance to visit a make-your-own event.
The kiddos got to build anything they wanted with the bins of LEGOS provided. I kept saying, "Who cares what it looks like.... the more you attach, the more you keep!!! lol" But, being overly OCD, all three were very picky about what they wanted to build.
All three were VERY tired before getting to the book store, so when they had to sit still and be quiet while building, we had a few meltdowns. Oh, the joys of Motherhood :)
Makenzie was determined to make a tower...
Dannen was attempting a vehicle, while Kaylie some sort of flying machine lol
It was really pretty cool seeing all the fun things for the kids to look at while building, too. They kept telling the other kids about the movie lol
All in all, it was a fun event... next time, this Mommy will make sure not to wear them out at a park nearly an hour away!
