Missing Chewy

I didn't realize how hard it would be to share how much I miss Chewy. May 25th marked one year that I had to make the worst decision to send him to Heaven:( That little guy was amazing... my little Chewbaca, aka Chewy... such a lovable kitten, a day shy of turning two months old. Though I know he's in a much better place, free from the terrible pains, I still wish for at least one more day with him... Mommy loves you sweet Chewy! As promised, your big sisters and big brother are taking care of your sweet sisters Abby & Boots:) Love you buddy...............

Summer Plans

To think that Summer has shown up so fast this year is crazy... Where did the time go? I guess keeping busy 6 out of 7 days a week really helps make time fly. We're going from a hectic school schedule, to a somewhat less hectic Summer schedule.
With a few more dance rehearsals, Kaylie and Makenzie will be done with dance. We certainly can't wait to see Kaylie perform in her "Pink Panther" Acro show and Makenzie in her "Annie: Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" Musical Theatre show in early June. I shouldn't really say done when it comes to Kaylie for dance... She will be beginning private tumble lessons late June through early August. Once she gets her round-off back handspring solo, she'll be moved up to the Advanced Acro class! Late July brings a Production Camp for her as well, perfecting and showing off her acrobatic skills in a "Super Hero" performance lol All of the dance activities will help her since she made the Competitive Acro Team at her dance studio!!! (Fun year ahead, that's for sure!)
Though Makenzie has decided to no longer pursue dance, she has picked up the interest to learn piano:) Our good friend at church may give her private lessons throughout the Summer. (Guess we ought to look for a keyboard or piano?!) Makenzie has also informed us of her continued desire to play soccer. We hope to enroll her in the MVP program in the Fall, if not another, more competitive group. There is also a Singing camp she will join this Summer... can't wait to her her beautiful voice:)
We decided to keep Dannen out of school this Summer. He was going to the Parent's Day Out program at our church, one day a week. I figured with so much going on, we can make some great memories and have fun with all three kids. He LOVES to swim, so I foresee lots of Mommy/Dannen pool time ahead!
All three kiddos will be involved with two Vacation Bible School events, one with our church in July, the other with the church that sponsors the MVP sports programs in June. We'll also visit the library every Monday for their great Summer reading series program. Oh, and they will be participating in a reading program with the Smokies baseball team, earning tickets to games, the zoo, and many local attractions... gettin' their read on! lol
We're also throwing Kaylie a "Brave" birthday party. Totally helps that Daddy is the GM at a movie theatre... she can't wait to see this movie. And since she's SOOOO much like the character, we're hoping to temporarily "color" her hair bright red and get it all curly so she can look the part. I don't know who's more excited!? Should be lots of fun:)
And who can't forget our 9-day road trip!?!? My mom/sister are moving, so William and I will be loading up our kids to drive down and help her say goodbye to Florida. If mapquest is correct, we're in for at least a 44 hour adventure... with three kids! Can't wait to see them, as well as our family in Pennsylvania and Ohio. I've already begun planning things for us to see along the way, creating fun journals for each kiddo, picking up $ items here and there for road-trip fun. Might as well make the most out of what will be a GREAT Summer road trip!
I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting to add... you should see my calender... seriously, it's crazy! In all honesty, I wouldn't trade one single day:)

End of Year Awards

To say William and I are proud parents is a complete understatement! Kaylie and Makenzie did so well this year... all the hard work paid off:)
Makenzie and her teachers Mrs. McMahan and Mrs. Joanne (and bff Alyssa)
 Such a happy little girl!
 Ms. HONOR ROLL!!!
Best attendance in her class!!! She's our little comedian lol
 Makenzie LOVES to read:)
Always ready to lend a hand...
 TEAMWORK!
VERY proud of the great grades!
 School is soooo important...
Love this one... Kaylie's biggest fan:)
Kaylie brought in a lot of great awards... notice the height difference lol
 Kaylie LOVES to sing...
no, really... she LOVES to sing lol
This was a HUGE surprise to us, as SS isn't one of her favorites... guess hard work pays off in the end!
THAT'S MY GIRL! ONLY ONE IN HER CLASS:)
 Seriously... amazed...
With Accelerated Math and Accelerated English, this is a true blessing:)
GREAT JOB to both our very smart little girls:) Here's to our now 4th and 2nd graders!

End of Spring Soccer Season

This year's Spring Soccer season was GREAT! How neat is it to live next to such a wonderful community park that provides fun for all ages?!?! Kaylie, Makenzie and Dannen loved playing soccer each week... Here's a few pics from the last set of games...
After a fun morning of games, there was a huge celebration where the kids received beautiful plaques. Everyone went onto the soccer fields to enjoy free hot dogs, popcorn (from William's theatre), and drinks while watching "How to Train A Dragon" on a big inflatable screen. The night didn't end until almost 10pm!
Big congrats to all three kiddos and William (Dannen's coach and most of the time Referee for MANY of the teams:)). Can't wait until Fall '12 Soccer!!!

"Broadway Beat"

Kaylie absolutely enjoyed singing with her school's choral group this year. After a great Christmas performance, we knew the Spring program was going to be even better! What little girl doesn't like to sing fun songs, a lot of which they hear in movies they watch?!?! One of our kids' favorite movies is the newest version of "Hairspray" (with John Travolta). They know a lot of it by heart lol Kaylie couldn't wait to sing "You Can Stop The Beat"... oh, and do the motions as well! Along with quite a few other songs (grrrrr to my camera goofing up and running out of memory), my favorite was "Season's of Love"......... gotta stop crying to even type this... not only does she sing it beautifully, but this was the song that was played when I took my girls to South Florida for a Pancreatic Cancer Walk. It was in honor of those fallen to the HORRIBLE cancer (I miss you, Dad...... =(.......). Don't mind the pretty bad wiggling of the camera during that song. I was battling a button-pushing/giggling son and trying to see with an absurd amount of tears in my eyes! What a delight to hear my baby girl sing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kids of the Kingdom

Both Kaylie and Makenzie were apart of our church's Kids of the Kingdom choir. They practiced every Wednesday, and even sang throughout the whole year for our church. I was honored to be asked to plan the end of year party and come up with their t-shirts.
We had a pizza and make-your-own sundae party!
Had a little too much fun with the confetti lol
Playing with my camera...
Each kid and the choral director had a brand new shirt... I came up with the logo and used transfer paper to get it onto the shirt. It was the first time ever doing shirt transfers... DEFINITELY going to do more!
 =)
The day after their party, the children sang again, for the last time this year, in front of both services.
They loved that Pastor Brad joined in on the Bongo Drums:)
 Beautiful singers!
Kaylie (and Makenzie) got to read a scripture verse... this service was lead by the Kids of the Kingdom!!!
My all time favorite song... they played musical sticks, hitting them on the ground at different times, playing "God Is So Good"!
 Loved the musical instruments, too!
Beyond proud of their hard work... can't wait for next year:)

1st Grade Field Day

Makenzie's field day was a blast! All the little 1st graders filled their gym, ready for some fun. Makenzie really enjoyed having her little brother in the stands... and he was eating up the attention LOL
 Great bunch of kids:)
Her first event was the shuttle relay... thank goodness for long legs!
And, of course, what better kiddo to play Musical Chairs, than our very music loving kiddo? She hung in there for four rounds and had a huge smile, bringing back the purple ribbon:) Though they didn't win, her class did a good job using their muscles for the class tug-o-war. Notice how tall she is?!?! She and another girl tied for tallest kiddos in the entire 1st grade lol
 So much fun:)
Great job, Makenzie!

3rd Grade Field Day

Kaylie's 3rd grade field day was sooo much fun to watch! Can't believe how fast she's growing up...
The first event we saw was her 50 yeard relay... my little girl has super fast legs!
Dannen was a HUGE support, cheering for his big sister all day!
She couldn't stop laughing while walking with the egg:P
This was one of her favorites... toss a soaking wet sponge over and under with your team...
 Skipping rope is ALWAYS fun!
And who doesn't like bouncing on a gigantic ball?!?!
Great job, Kaylie!

Rain Forest Adventure

Makenzie's year-end field trip was at the Rain forest Adventure in Sevierville. What a great place to take kids!!! They started the visit with a 40 minute Q/A presentation with live animals they could touch...
A ferret
 A snake (yUcK)
 A baby Alligator...
There was also a Chinchilla and Tarantula (only the teachers and adults got to go near that monster!). All the kids really enjoyed the hands-on experience!
Then everyone was set free to roam with their chaperones, viewing all the may different reptiles, bird, and animals.
Makenzie LOVED interacting with this funny little guy... they kept mimicking each other LOL
This place even had a few rare two-headed turtles!
These monkeys were hilarious to watch... the hardly ever sat/hung still!
 LOVE this one:)
A few of her little friends...
 HUGE turtle!
Makenzie's favorite part was the chickens... LOL... there were three running free that the kids could play with. Surprisingly, they're super soft!
Yes, that's my girl... trying to climb in the waterfall!
So thankful to have the free time to spend with my daughter. Everyone went to the city park afterward, running off their energy. Can't believe this year has flown by so fast!
