Had to share... Makenzie came down with Strep Throat... something shared easily in our household. We're also watching her carefully since she's had upper tummy soreness for two days now as well:( Makenzie camped out in our living room, watching cartoons and napping most of the afternoon What's the first thing Kaylie asks to do when she comes home from school? "Mommy, can I paint Makenzie's nails so she can feel better?"... seriously made me tear up! Gotta love those sisterly moments<3

Soccer Mania
What does the LaVella family do on a normal Saturday in Spring? Spend a few hours on the soccer fields!
Last weekend was loaded with fun...
William and Dannen had pics at 9:30am, followed by their game at 11:30am...
Let's GO GO GO!
Dannen was all over the field
Block it, buddy!
After the boys' game, the kids and I ate lunch (yummy burgers and nachos from the concession stand) while William was another game's referee. As a special treat, he got to referee our girls' game!
Before every game, they announce all the players and have a word of prayer... MVP League... Most Valuable Player:) Dannen did such a great job praying:)
It wasn't long before he was asking to take a nap, trying to wrap up in the blanket LOL (No nap after a 1:30pm start time meant someone got super fussy by the end of the game at 2:30pm)
Getting everyone together for a quick prayer before the game began
Makenzie has decided to stick with soccer... she was VERY ready to start the game!
Oh Yeah!
Kaylie was the star player chosen to throw the ball in!
And to play goalie! (She's so tiny... check out that shirt LOL)
After pics and games, you bet we all crashed for a nap! So thankful to live next to the soccer fields, making it very easy to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of sports and fresh air:) GREAT job everyone!

Finally Updating
Okay... I finally sat down and added to this blog... it's about time, right!?!? LOL
Keep reading down to see all the fun we've been up to... more to come!
Thanks:)
Soccer Girls
Our girls were asked to join the Spring MVP Soccer League. (William coaches Dannen's Jellyfish team.) They play together as the Grizzly Bears! With Kaylie having played in the Fall and Makenzie only playing soccer with us as a family, we were very anxious to see how they'd play together on the same team... let's just say we're SO very proud of Kaylie's memory of the sport's rules/plays & Makenzie's KICK BUTT skills she picked up VERY fast!!! Awesome is the word...
A huge storm was passing just to the Southwest of us (Our home is in the distance, just past the playground area.)
Let the fun begin...
Sisters helping each other out on a great play...
Look who got air time! lol
What a great game! Can't wait to watch and see their cute faces running around the field lol
Oh, and guess who decided she wants to finish out this school year with dance and turn solely to soccer and basketball? Yup, Makenzie is beyond pumped and ready to tackle the field and court! That's my girl:)
Paint & Cars
What to do when kids aren't feeling good... pull out the finger paints and toy cars... and see what creations can be made...
Makenzie and Dannen had soooo much fun seeing all the different types of tracks the cars could make.
Driving fast made for a mess of color!
Miss perfection:)
Focus...
And make a mess...
Makenzie liked making lines on all her papers
Ummm, Mommy? Is it time to clean up yet?
One more...
Never thought I'd be one for watching my kids make a mess with paint... so glad they enjoyed themselves! I got some home-made art from two of my favorite people:)
Preschool Fun
Dannen's preschool (Parent's Day Out) held a fun-filled Easter event. I was asked to photograph all the activities that day.
Kids ranging from 1-5 mixed together in groups, helping each other with different crafts.
One of the most colorful tables was the "decorate your own cookie" table:)
All the kids enjoyed learning about the "Baby Bus"
What's an Easter party without an egg hunt?
I thought this was a pretty cool picture... Dannen and his friend from the older class hung out drawing pictures on the ground. Loved seeing him have so much fun!
We're very thankful Dannen has such a wonderful place to learn and grow with his little friends:) Plus, learning at our church makes it even more fun with all the church events and things we enjoy as a family!

Easter Fun
We have a tradition of getting different "baskets" each year from the Easter Bunny. And as usual, we fill them with religious things like Bible story coloring books, reading along Bible books on cd, and a few things like jelly beans and some chocolate. We've never been fans of buying toys and such for Easter, trying to focus on what the "holiday" is truly about. Grandma Carol sent a bunch of chocolate bunnies for all five of us:)
Egg coloring was another "fun" event... more stressful than anything, with lots of little fingers trying to do a million things at once lol
Our church held a fun Easter egg hunt and activity day. Makenzie was pretty funny to watch trying to pin the tail on the bunny.
Kaylie and her little friend Lilah enjoyed the bunny hop.
Dannen did the egg race, using a huge marshmallow as the "egg" lol
My three cuties... they had a great day together!
