The Home Depot sponsors free kid's workshops on the first Saturday of each month. Since moving here to Tennessee, I've tried really hard to get my girls to each event. Who doesn't like a FREE kid's event?!?! For the month of June, they had an extra event where kids could build Dad a tool box for Father's Day. This was the very first time Dannen came along, let alone Daddy lol (It's usually a Mommy and girls kinda thing we do!) I'm not sure who had more fun, William helping all our kids, or Dannen hammering away at the tool box. These events are geared towards children ages 5-12, but he rocked the hammer! I personally loved his stylish eye-wear:) It'll be a great bonding experience for our kids!Wednesday, June 29

Green Thumb
For Father's Day this year, my husband wanted to do some gardening. He's always wanted his own Tomato and Green Pepper plants. Years ago, before kids and even marriage, we had a Strawberry plant and loved it! William took all three kids outside to get a little teaching lesson in Gardening 101.
This is our Tomato plant. It had four in a pack, so we're hoping to have a really nice turn out!
Our little Green Peppers should have plenty of room in this container. Can't wait to make pitas with our home-grown peppers!
This contraption is for our Strawberry plants. Talk about a bear to put together! Should be interesting to see how this works.
So, here's the line-up... Tomatoes, Pine Trees, and Green Peppers. Our little trees have really taken off, getting bigger each day:)
Gotta keep a good eye on these guys... stay tuned for updates!!!

Happy Father's Day

What Makes a Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad

Happy 2 Years, William!
Two years ago yesterday, William joined Phoenix Big Cinemas as the General Manager of The Roxy Cinema Grill. It was such a great opportunity for such a deserving, hard-working, theatre-driven, management skilled man:)
Check out the original post I wrote about all the great news!
Just over a year from his start date, William got word about a new theatre being built in Tennessee... WHAT!?!? This could be the move we've waited for! Sure enough, two months later were were crossing our fingers, waiting for the word to pack and move.
William's hard work paid off... Becoming the General Manager of Pigeon Forge's brand new state of the art, 3-D, digital movie theatre was such an accomplishment! Opening day was AMAZING!
He's had the chance to learn about so many new aspects of the theatre industry as well as help others grow their knowledge:)
Can't wait to see what the next year holds for his career! Congrats on two very eventful years!!!

VBS 2011
Vacation Bible School this year was at Seymour First Baptist Church. We live literally right next door, so it was super easy to get our girls there each day:)
On the last day, there was a huge presentation and carnival to celebrate. During the presentation, Dannen and I watched as both girls sang and did sign language to some pretty awesome music. When he saw his sisters, Dannen smiled SUPER big and shouted "I see Kaylie and Chenzie!".
Afterward, we went outside, ready to enjoy yummy food and fun
This is the view from the church parking lot area
This was what the church provided for the evening's fun:)
We're so proud of our girls and how many great things they learned... can't wait to sign them up for more VBS programs this summer.

Happy 10 Years!
~Happy 10th Anniversary~
This was our wedding song...
The song William sang at our reception... (Not a "wedding" song, but definitely one he LOVED to sing when it came on the radio LOL)
The song my parents played for us...
One of our favorite songs...
And another...
I could flood this post with tons of music selections that mean a lot to us. We're the type of people who put moments in our lives to music, or moments happen when certain songs shine through.
I remember William making me a bunch of mixed tapes with my "boom box"... He got me hooked on Country music with Shania Twain. We've driven many miles, listening to songs that made us cry, laugh hysterically, goof around, and of course made us remember people and times in our lives.
Ten years ago at this moment, we were dancing the night away with friends and family... I sit here now, typing, tearing up, while William works his tail off at work (something he's ALWAYS prided himself with 100% commitment) and I listen to our three kids sleep peacefully. Never would I have thought we would be living in Tennessee, no where near family. Never would I have thought we would have been through SO MANY difficult times. Never would I have thought we would have been through SO MANY great times:)
It's amazing thinking about what's given to you in life... what you do with it... what you make the most of every day... I wouldn't change a thing this past decade... for if I did that, we wouldn't be where we are today... living and learning together... embracing each day as a gift!
Here's to another 10+ years... I love you...

OBX Vacation
After months of planning and waiting... The LaVella Family packed up and headed for the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It was an eventful 10 1/2 hour drive to say the least! The only other time we visited was 5 years ago, when I was only 5 months pregnant with Makenzie!
Our first stop was Corolla Beach. We hung out with friends until our beach house was ready. Dannen had a blast playing in the sand!
Ummmm... Makenzie, that's for the sea shells!
First night's dinner was beer and pizza... oh wait, juice and pizza for the kids:) Everyone enjoyed the pool while getting settled into their beautiful rooms.
Good morning LaVella kiddos! Leave it to my kids to wake up before 6am on vacation lol
And we're off to the beach... Our home was just down the dirt path from the ocean!
BEAUTIFUL beach:)
Love love love this picture...
Swimming with Mommy:)
Don't forget the hot tub!
This brings smiles to my face... My Uncle Brian and hubby grillin' for mom's kabobs.
Oh yummy kabobs... how you tasted so delicious! Great job Mom and Tricia!
GRRRRRRRREEAATT Auntie Marcia and Makenzie... Makenzie loved taking coffee to her every morning:)
Zamma is the best back tickler EVER!!!
Okay, here's THE cheese smile:P
Our night to cook was themed Italy... We had spaghetti, awesome lasagna, cheese bread, salad, and wine... all with music via William's phone and pretty decorations care of the dollar store LOL I love that place!
My little boy sure is growing up fast...
My LaVella men... :)
Aunt Chris' glasses were a hit with the kids!
EEEWWWW!!! Kaylie and her dead crabs:P
We went to Roanoke Island for a Ghost tour... turned out the lady never showed, so we made our own spooky tour. Kudos to Hal and Cathy for scaring the crap out of everyone!
Me & William cheesin' it up again on the bridge lol
My new favorite rule! Hung out at what I consider the smallest-live-band-bar with hubby, Aunt Chris & Uncle Brian, and Hal and Cathy.
Brrrr.....
Found the oldest version of Chutes and Ladders ever... good times!
Zamma and Makenzie relaxing by the pool
Hahaha... someone sat in water by the pool!
Currituck Beach Lighthouse... next visit I'm going up there!
Tricia, Mom, Dannen and I all went to see the sunset
Love this picture... so calming...
Good morning Corolla! Headed to the beach to watch the sunrise...
Beautiful...
Couldn't believe how orange the sky turned!
I woke my girls up to say goodbye to my cousin Jeremy... they absolutely adored him!
Group shot, minus my sleeping kids lol
We had a blast!!! It was great seeing family and remembering good times while making new memories. Can't wait until next year... who's up for OBX 2012?!?!
