First GC Softball Practice

~Happy Fourth of July~

We spent the morning cheering William on at the first Grace Church softball practice. Four guys showed, ready to dust off the gloves and prepare for the upcoming season.

At first, Kaylie ran around the outfield, helping William catch the balls. Makenzie and Dannen hung out with me on the side, playing around in the grass.
I was super excited to have such well-behaved kids, that I pulled out the camera, ready to capture some awesome plays and fun times.
Dannen kept yelling, "Dada Dada", wanting to run by him. If it weren't for flying balls, I would have gladly let him play with the big boys lol
William did a great job at bat! I've never seen him play baseball in all the years we've been together... it's always been football!
I quickly realized how much my kids can entertain themselves when Mommy's not looking... Kaylie is like a spider monkey!!!
Alright, bring it on! Time to pitch:P
William, Ethan, Danny, and Tim all spent a good hour and a half hanging out, breaking a sweat.
After a bit, William went up to bat and unfortunately bit the dust... he swung at the ball and went down hard on his right foot. Talk about instant pain! He tried to walk it off and continue playing. Thankfully, the adrenaline rush kicked in and he kept up with the other guys for the rest of the morning. Once we got in the van and he had time to relax, the pain came on hard. Sadly, not having insurance puts a damper on when to attempt an ER visit, but we had to do what we could at home. Lots of pain meds, ice, elevating the foot, and rest followed for the remainder of the day.
With a pretty bad sprain, he braved through the night and even hobbled in to work today. Talk about DEDICATION and DETERMINATION! Nothing is going to stop him:P William's hoping to get better by the first game scheduled on his birthday!

Birthday Celebration

This year for my birthday, I had the chance to watch all three Twilight movies! William took the night off to watch our kids, while I spent time with my friends. An old high school friend and her sister-in-law and friend came from Orlando. I drove a van full of 10th grade girls:P Talk about making me feel old, in a good way! Brought back lots of memories of when I had a van full of friends headed out some place cool for the day. I'm thankful for not being "too" old and cool enough to hang out with LOL

William's theatre ran the first two Twilight movies on the 29th, with the midnight show of Eclipse on my actual birthday. The theatre was PACKED! I was there from 5pm on the 29th through almost 3am on the 30th! It was definitely worth the wait:) I got to play "spy" for William, keeping him updated on things going on with crowds, concession sales, and employees. Made me really miss working for the movie theatre industry. Lots of memories of when William and I worked together and at our own theatre's came flooding back.

After the movie, "my" girls all sang ~Happy Birthday~ with hand movements and all. SO sweet:) I also received some flowers... perfect way to begin my birthday!!!

Since I got home shortly after 3am, I was super tired come 6:30am when my kids all woke up. Thankfully, William got up with all of them and let me sleep in. That was, until I hear shuffling feet and "Can we do it?"... "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOMMY!" yelled kids and hubby at the top of their lungs right around 8:30am<3

We hurried to get things together and make the trip to Orlando. My Aunt Candy, Uncle John and cousins John, Robert, and David came to visit Florida for a week. We hung out by the pool all afternoon, enjoying catching up and yummy food. My mom and sister were there for the week, and bought me a beach cover-up and bathing suit for my birthday... came in handy:) The last time we saw my aunt and her family was when Makenzie turned one month old! Needless to say, it was great seeing everyone and watching my kids enjoy their extended family:)

So, here's to another year full of exciting things to come. I can honestly say turning 30 was rough... went through a lot physically and emotionally. This year, I've made a bunch of promises to myself and family. A happier and healthier year is ahead of me!
